Tight clump of a dozen stems, 2.5
m. tall, 3 cm. in diameter. Perhaps
planted, in partial shade, thin, short
woods of Quercus alba, Fagus
grandifolia on ridgetop near
overlook of dam on Bronx River.
Petals slightly pinkish tinged when
beginning to expand, appearing white in
full anthesis.
