(the correct name may be H. tetraptera Ellis) NEW YORK State, Bronx Co., Bronx, The New York Botanical Garden. 40°51’43”N,73o52’30”W. alt. 75 ft. Tight clump of a dozen stems, 2.5 m. tall, 3 cm. in diameter. Perhaps planted, in partial shade, thin, short woods of Quercus alba, Fagus grandifolia on ridgetop near overlook of dam on Bronx River. Petals slightly pinkish tinged when beginning to expand, appearing white in full anthesis. Voucher for a DNA sample collected for the Forest DNA Barcoding Project; funded by the Alfred P.
