Chapeu on the BA 052 highway to Mundo Novo,
with water-worn, horizontally bedded sandstone
at surface, with damp sand, sedge marsh,
exposed rocks and waterfall. Vegetation open
scrub to closed low woodland in drier areas.

This plant growing at water margin by river at
edge of low woodland.
Bushy shrub to 4 m. Leaves spreading, rigid,
coriaceous glaucous, slightly less so beneath.
Sepals yellowish,tinged red at base. Petals
golden-yellow. Anthers dull yellow, ovary
green with orange tinged style.
