crevices and mossy slabs of northerly facing metamorphic cliffs on shaded steep slopes. in conifer forest dominated by Pseudotsuga menziesii-Pinus lambertiana; growing with Polystichum imbricans, Polypodium californicum, Sedum spathulifolium.
