South American plants collected by Richard Spruce acquired from Cambridge University 1 1931 NOT A TYPE CYPERACEAE Scirpus thermalis Spruce ex Bentham & Hooker f. Gen PI. 3:1051.1883. A name Bentham & Hooker f. picked up from the herbarium label of the /?. Spruce specimens No. 5781, collected in the Ecuadorean Andes in 1857=1859. The name is mentioned in "synonmy" of Scirpus subterraneus Boeckeler, and is not an accepted name, and is not described as new by Bentham and Hooker.f. Now = Zameioscirpus gaimardioides (E. Desv.)
