semi-deciduous forest with many lianas.
Humus of topsoil up to 20cm deep. Avg.of
1500mm/y rain.
Treelet or shrub, 6m tall. Round bole. Bark
fibrous, gray, rough, flakes when old. Slash
reddish-purple or orange-brown. Leaves
simple, elliptic, apex acuminate, base
cuneate. Copious, simple, brown hairs on
leaf. Leaves dry dark brown or black.
