G. de Gennaro Montserrat, St. Peter Parrish, Salem. 16° 44’45” N 62° 13’45” W, elevation ca. 46 m Residential area, backyard of the Taj; next to stone wall in weedy area of lawn, lots of shrubs. Woody branching shrub ca. 1.5-2 m tall. Bark flaky and greenish-gray, the inner bark dark brown. Leaves dark, slightly bluish-green. Petals bright red then transitioning to orange then golden yellow moving outwards; anthers dark red. Fruits grass green. Pine smell when cut, dissipates quickly.
