species locally abundant, with 52 trees
> 10 cm DBH in 0.25-hectare tree plot.
Inflorescence bracts cream-white when
immature, turning pink at maturity.
Corolla pale violet. Anthers yellow.
Leaves spoon-shaped or broadly revolute.
