Grounds of the New York Botanical Garden, south of entrance to
Steinhardt Maple collection, planted 5m west of large boulder alongside
main footpath, prior to path fork. Roughly 90m exactly west of
Rockefeller rose garden gazebo. 40.858987N, 73.874596W (+10m), ca.
20m elevation. Cultivated beds.
Small tree 7.5m high with a matching width. Main trunk quickly diverges
roughly 0.5m above the ground into several large limbs that continue to
radiate outward into smaller branches into an even, dome-shaped canopy.
Bark lightly sheds to a light beige-brown, with furrowing no deeper than
lcm on oldest growth. Shallow, spreading, and dense root system.
