Upright tree-shrub, multi-stemmed, 4.5-5.5 meters tall. Stems drooping
heavily under Suit weight. Veins along underside of leaves are
puberulous. Leaf surface green, underside light green. Crushed leaves
smell like burnt green peppers. Berry panicle is opposite, spirally
branched, yellow to red in color. Berries are bright red. Numerous
lenticels across the gray, alligator-like, ridged bark.
