No. 8590, collected May 30, near Smith Creek, Santa Clara
county, elevation 2150 feet, in a narrow ravine facing northward
in moist ground. ^ This, like no. 8558, has the back of the fruit
pubescent, the wings glabrous, but the shape of the fruit is like
that of P. glabra.
