Near the old sawmill site west of Bennett spring on the New.
ville-Covelo road, elevation about 3000 feet in wet places along
streams in the yellow pine belt. Douglas fir is replacing the pine.
The principal undershrubs are Ceanothus, Toxicodendron and
Quercus dumosa.
