The New York Botanical Garden OLEACEAE Syringa vulgaris L. ‘Mme Antoine Buchner’ USA. New York: Bronx County. New York City. New York Botanical Garden. Lilac Collection. Northwest of the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden. West side of the pathway. Coordinates: 40.8601 -73.8739. Plant situated in a cultivated lilac collection. Placed in a mulched bed with mowed turf surrounding it. Surrounded by several other varieties of lilacs. 3m tall by 3.5 wide multi stemmed shrub. At time of collection, the plant is about 50% past bloom. Simple leaves slightly cordate with entire margins, opposite and decussate. Bark is grey-brown.
