Hill, (ILLS) 2002 Dipsacaceae ILLINOIS: CHAMPAIGN COUNTY: 40° 07’ 47” N. Lat. 88° 14’ 55” W. Long. T. 19N, R. 8E, SE/14, NE1/4, SE1/4, SW1/4 Sect. 1. Champaign. Research garden at private residence, 1411 Winding Lane. Thomasboro 7.5' quadrangle. Elevation 757 feet. Garden soil, mostly calcareous dark clay. Cultivated in back garden in nearly full sun. Flowers blood-red, outer (margin of head) ones with longer petals; perennial herb to 0.5 meter tall, several-stemmed, leaves basal in winter. Steven R. Hill 34812 06 July 2002 04232663
