Illinois, Cook Co., grassy bank along exit ramp
at Desplaines Plaza along Hwy. 1-90, Desplaines,
NW side of Chicago. With Cirsium arvense,
Daucus carota, Bromus inermis. This species
common in similar habitats in much of
northwestern side of Chicago. Erect, coarse
herbs, common in places and forming dense
stands, to 2 m. tall; stem leaves all laciniate,
but the rosettes for next year’s plants have
merely crenate to occasionaly lobed leaves.
Flowers white. Voucher for bulk medicinal
screening by Pfizer: 43648a IF (Nee-252);
43648b LF (Nee-253); 43648c ST (Nee-254).
