At base of steep, south-facing slope; formerly maple-
tulip poplar canopy; recently cut-over; along
intermittent stream flowing east into Savannah River.
Site #14 (Lat. 34*02f23*; Long. 82°36'50"), about
1.5 miles north of Russell Dam construction site on
the Savannah. Below the 475-ft. contour (full pool
for proposed Russell Lake).
