Ridge top and slight N-facing slope, heavily pastured
until 5-10 years ago, now growing up to Rubus strigosus,
Rubus cf. alleghaniensis, R. occidentalis, with thin stand
of large Tilia americana, Quercus rubra, Q. alba, Ostrya
virginiana, Prunus serotina.
WISCONSIN: Richland Co., 3 miles SE of Richland Center.

Shrub 2 m. tall; in a colony, probably a clone, of
plants scattered over a half acre or more.
Wood white, soft; bark gray, fibrous and very strong.
No fruits seen on this or any of the other shrubs.
