WGS84/NAD83. Elevation 1700 feet. Acidic
clay-loam.
Dry-mesic oak-hickory-pine forest, planted area, clearing
alongside powerline. Petals white, stamens yellow; fruits
green, globose, firm; leaves evergreen, firm, leathery,
darker above than below, cultivated and escaped shrub
2.5 meters tall and wide; seedling originally from Jan
Haldeman, Due West, SC. Seeds used as source of ‘tea
oil*.
