Impatiens capensis Meerb.
NEW YORK, SUFFOLK CO.: Huntington Station, in the Paumonek
Wetland, west of Walt Whitman High School, approx. 27.5 m south
of Jericho turnpike. Growing at the semi-shaded edge of a
Phragmites marsh in now dried out soil. Approx. 1-1.2 m tall;
foliage glaucous blue; flowers light orange. Growing in an Oak-
Hickory Mesic Woodland with Phragmites australis, Acer
rubrum, Salix, and Clethra alnifolia.
