Impatiens capensis Meerb.
NEW YORK, SUFFOLK CO.: Huntington Station, in the Paumonek
Wetland, west of Walt Whitman High School. Dominant plant in
the immediate area. In a gravelly stream/ wash bed, now dry,
though soil still moist; partially shaded. Approx. 1.2-1.37 m tall;
foliage glaucous blue; flowers light orange. Growing in an Oak-
Hickory Mesic Woodland with Arisaema triphyllum, Aralia elata,
and Rosa multiflora.
