PLANTS OF FLORIDA, U.S.A. EMPETRACEAE Ceratiola ericoides Michx. (Staminate) Franklin County: Alligator Point, near the Gulf of Mexico. Occurring, for the most part, in white sandy openings in sand pine-oak scrub on ancient dunes. Plants dioecious, with many main branches from or near the base, these eventually much branched and the whole plant more or less ball-like in shape. R. K.
