From margins of Metroxylon swamp and on lower slopes adjacent hills. Ascending the buttress ridge to the mountain above. On moderate slopes. 4°1 V S, 142°44' E Alt: 200m Tree 20 m tall. Small basal swelling. Infructescence terminal and axillary to 10 cm. Fruit orange, seemingly depressed on one side and inflated on the other. Pericarp smooth, fleshy. Seeds aborted. Vernacular name: Mahapa (Waskuk). Uses: The wood is used as posts for fences and in house foundations. 04208434
