Above willow zone, a wet meadow leading up to final
moraine below steep slope up to saddle. Some snow
patches behind moraine. Site 1 - lower end of meadow below
moraine.
Plant tufted, culm leaves much reduced. Inflorescence an
open panicle. 2-3 florets/spikelet, rachila hairy, extending
beyond terminal floret. Lemmas short awned (3mm) from
near base. Glumes shiny with purple central band. In clumps.
Very common. In full bloom in basin.
