Five plants close together in second
growth rain forest on edge of tidal
ereek. Sparsely branched, thinly foliag-
¿ed vine climbing to 10-25 ft; stems
^taking root where loops touch the ground
^largest stem 1.8 cm diameter at base*
not milky. Branchlets and smaller
s purplish brown to almost pur-
plish black; sacbridulous; rather
sparsely mottled with yellowish lentic
Leaves rounded to cuneate at base; dark
green above, pale green below;
s impressed above, prominent below;
glands orange to reddish. Calyx
spreading, margins green, median
brownish. Corolla yellow,copiously
tied with purplish red; lobes reflex-
to about right angles with throat
character lost when flower wilts);
11-12 cm. long, shaded from yellow
base to green at apex. Fruit not
'barium specimens.
