HHigh climbing (to over 100 ft.) liane,
¿much branched, but with stems up to only
¿?5-6 cm thick. Lower stem covered with
Jbrown, fissured, firm suberose bark. Sap
& of lower stem slightly milky; sap of
W branches and fruits not milky. Evergreen
v.or at least not showing any signs of be-
2 ing deciduous. Leaves dull dark green
1| above, much paler and whitish-mottled be-
low (as in S.sarmentosus); nerved slight-
'lyimpressed above, slightly raised below.
|Flowers not present on the single plant
,jseen. Follicles ripening; divergent (in
r|?paris) at aft angle of 150-155 deg.;green,
^plentifully dotted with small brown to
i^urplish-brown lenticells; the larger
-follicles about 18.5 to 20.5 cm long x
Bp*4 to 3*7 cm in greatest diameter, some-
"|twhat compressed laterally, distinctly 1-
jgrooved above and with a small depression
