semi-deciduous forest with many lianas.
Humus of topsoil up to 20cm deep. Avg.of
1500mm/y rain.
Sun-loving tree of disturbed forest, 16m
tall. Trunk deeply fluted near base, with
rough bumps. Rough, gray-brown, brittle
bark. Brownish-orange slash. Simple,
narrowly elliptic, glabrous leaves with
entire margin. Leaves thin and papery. No
exudate.
