sandy soil. Shrub or small tree up to
about 5 m tall* Leaves very pale below*
Outer surface of corolla tube white below,
deep purple above; inner surface whitish,
marked with stripes deep purple above and
orange at the base. Corolla lobes white
inside, red and white outside; throat &
scales deep purple. Follicles divaricate^
usually at right angles, or somewhat
reflexed or inflexed; apex often slightly
incurved; variously lenticellate; dark
purple-brown in color; up to 33 cm long
x 2.8 cm in greatest diameter.
