^woodland on a sandy ridge. Shrub
about 2 m tall; usually 1 subtreet stem
which'bears the fruits and flowers, . and
a few short leafy steins from a thick
woody stock. Sap of stems not milk/* I,
leaves small & narrow on the£fertile stem

"follicles divaricate at right angles;
mark purplish brown dotted with pale
