Shrub about 2 m tall; usually 1 subtreet stem which'bears the fruits and flowers, . and a few short leafy steins from a thick woody stock. Sap of stems not milk/* I, leaves small & narrow on the£fertile stem oj§T upper part of it, larger & broader on the short sterile shoots. Corolla ^htte ©accept for the upper part of the tubfe Jrtiitside and one side of the lobes# "follicles divaricate at right angles; mark purplish brown dotted with pale brown lenticells, about 17 exa long. 1 herbarium specimen Strophanthus UtfWsckii det.
