State of Oaxaca: Along road to microwave
tower about 3.6 mi S of Matatlan on Hwy 190,
about 1 mi S of Km 595
Grazed second growth on weathered metamorphics,
with some limestone, common in open places,
erect or twining among grasses or low shrubs,
from a somewhat fleshy rootstock, with milky
sap, corolla campanulate, with dark purple-
grey reticulations, these almost solid near
margin and more open within, corona lobes
wing-like, deep purple except with white
patches on sides, gynostegium apex not pointed,
uniform purple, some plants infected with rust
