43°18’30”N, 90°19’37”W. alt. 275 m.
Ridgetop woods (over upper Cambrian sandstone). Quercus
rubra, Q. alba, Ulmus rubra, Ostrya virginiana, Tilia
americana.
Tree; bark flaky. Voucher for wood specimens at Kw, Lw,
MADw, RSAw, the wood from an upper branch 8 cm. in
diameter and 48 years old. Leaves and acorns from upper
canopy in the sun.
