Upland forest of Betula papyri/era, Prunus serotina, Acer
rubrum, Populus tremuloides, Picea glauca.
In marshy spot. Shrub 4 m. tall, with few stems to 5.5 cm.
in diameter and 9 years old, in a tight clump. Voucher for
wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw, RSAw. Stems with a
few galls. Leaves glaucous beneath. Similar to Salix
discolor, no. Nee 64211 but pedicels longer and bracts
caducous.
