us Vo U.S.A. Ulmaceae Ulmus pumila L. det. M.Nee, 2018 WISCONSIN, Richland Co., 3 miles SE of center of Richland Center. T 10 N; R 1 E; NE14NBK sect. 35. 43°18’24.5”N, 90°19’58”W. alt. 227 m. Grassy, untended edge of lawn at farmhouse, spontaneous small tree, 8 m. tall, 17 cm. in diameter, 8 years old. When dry, sapwood pale yellow, the heartwood pale tan. Voucher for wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw, MEXUw, RSAw Penn State. Inflorescences dark purple, almost black. Staminate inflorescences with anthers beginning to dehisce on elongate filaments; pistillate flowers much less conspicuous, with creamy stigmas.
