DEPTO. SANTA Cruz, Prov. Vallegrande, 5.4 km NE of
airport at Vallegrande, along gravel road heading toward the
Río San Bias valley.
18°27’34”S, 64°03’14”W. alt. 2085 m.
Steep slopes on sandstone, with shrubs and some small
trees, Schinopsis marginata, Lithrea molleoides (L.
temifolia), Dodonaea angustifolia, Tecoma stems, Tecoma
cf. tenuiflora.
There are either three species of Tecoma here, or
hybridization between two. Tecoma tenuiflora is common,
always a slender shrub no more than 1.5 or perhaps 2 m.
tall. At least one plant of Tecoma stans was seen in the area
with typical large yellow corollas. The common large shrub
has yellow-orange corollas, nearly the size of those of T.
stans.
Shrub 4 m. tall. Corollas bright yellow-orange.
