THE NEU YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN Plants of Ghana APOCYNACEAE Funtumia africana GHANA. Ashanti: Sekyere. Bobiri Forest Reserve. 6°38’N, 1°17’W. Moist semi-deciduous forest with many lianas. Humus of topsoil up to 20cm deep. Avg.of 1500mm/y rain. Small to medium-sized tree, 45m tall. Round unbuttressed trunk. Brittle, smooth, gray ti dark bark. Prominent eyemarks. Brownish slash. Copious, white, sticky exudate. Simple, narrowly elliptic leaves with domatia of hairs in glandular pits. Leaf margin broadly crenate. BOTANICAL S.
