Serbera odoll*® Gaertn, Small erect tree on wooded gravelly creek banks at 260 feet altitude; stem terete, 5 inches thick, 20 feet high or lees, branched from below the middle; wood very soft, light, slightly odorous, white, tasteless; bark ater, thinly checked and flaking in plates, with on abundance of latex; main branches ascend- ingly spreading, freely rebranched, the ultimate ones as- cendingly curved; leaves crowded, toward the tops, rotately spreading, ascending, coriaceous, shallowly folded upon the upper darker green surface, the sides usually wavy toward the abruptly recurved apex; inflorescence erect, all the stalks green, the reflexed calyx glaucous green; corolla tube greenish, the segments white, the throat incarnatus; ovary and stigma dark green, style whitish; anthers yellow as well as their appendaged adnate filaments; the hairs creamy white and held above the anthers by the corolla throat processes; flowers erect and scarcely fragrant.
