United States of America. California. Mono Co. Glass Mountain Region: Wet Meadow: south end of southwest fork, around seeps. (Dexter Canyon quad).

Habitat
Wet meadow running SW to NE, fed by perennial seeps. Forested slopes and uplands of Pinus contorta and Populus tremuloides. Associated mesic species including Salix, Senecio triangularis, Aquilegia formosa, Smilicina stellata, Mimulus primuloides, Dodecatheon, Potentilla, Ribes, Trifolium. Occasional around meadow. Fine silty soil of pumice origin.

Fruit spiny, red-purple.
