Central Demerara compartment, ca. 45 km S of Mabura.
Mixed forest on laterite, with Swartzia leiocalycina,
Vouacapoua sp., Licaria canella, Eschweilera decolorans.
Tree, 35 m tall, dbh 0.7 m. Base slightly widened. Bark
yellow-brown to light brown, lenticellate, cracked.
Lenticels round to elongate, 3-5 x 2-3 mm, often scored
in horizontal rows of up to 20 cm long. Cracks only on
parts of the trunk, 0.5-3 x 0.05-0.2 cm. Dead bark
red-brown, 1-2 mm thick. Living bark yellow, soft, 2.5-3
cm thick, scent mango/almond-like. Latex only in few
droplets, creamy white. Leaves tufted at branch ends.
Flowers creamy white.
Separate: wood; flowers in ale.; slides bark, slash
