Asplenium platyneuron (L.) Britton, Sterns & Poggenb.
United States of America. New York: Suffolk County. East Hampton
Township, hamlet of Montauk, Montauk State Park, on edge of
shady, sandy Money Pond trail. (41.07227^ 07i.86687°W).
Perennial fern; stipe & rachis burgundy, glossy. Only two
individuals -20 cm apart. One broken frond collected to preserve
plant. In association with Quercus alba, Q. velutina, Amelanchier
laevis, and Primus serotina.
*Note-this is the first time observing this species in Montauk.
