Township, hamlet of Montauk, Culloden Point Preserve, mesic oak-
hickory forest. (4i.o647i°N, 07i.95695°W).
Perennial graminoid; rhizomes orange and wiry; roots white; culms
stiffly erect; stem bases swollen. In association with Alliaria
petiolata, Carexpensylvanica, C. swanii, Anemone quinquefolia,
Eurybia divaricata, Geranium maculata, Smilax rotundifolia,
Quercus alba and Carya glabra.
*Note-live plant originally collected on 26 May 2018, potted and
grown on to reproductive maturity. On 23 June 2018 plant cleaned
and pressed.
