Habitat
Sandstone rocks, with open sand in flatter areas. Open scrub in exposed sites to scattered low woodland.

Description
Normally a tree up to 8 m but at this season flowers all over. This collection from a suckering stump with young shoots to 2 m. Leaves grey-green above, paler, greyer beneath. Calyx purplish-black with grey hairs in lower part. Corolla in bud pinkish-orange; when open pink with white area at base of upper lip in throat-unvaried. Lower lip darker pink. Anthers yellow. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
