Quercus rubra, Tilia americana, Betula populifolia, Spiraea
alba, Zanthoxylum americanum) along edge of river, and
partly shaded bank of river (Asclepias incarnata, Verbena
bastata).
Erect herbs on partly shaded bank; sap milky; stem reddish.
Inflorescence erect, although flowers nodding with age,
white.
