THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN Plants of Ghana No. 52 APOCYNACEÄE Al stoni a boonei GHANA. Ashanti: Sekyere. Bobiri Forest Reserve. 6°38’N, 1°17’W. Moist semi-deciduous forest with many lianas. Humus of topsoil up to 20cm deep. Avg.of 1500mm/y rain. Tree, 40m tall, branches usually 3 or more per node. Straight, round bole. Tall buttresses. Bark gritty, rough, brown or gray-brown. Slash brownish-orange or yellow-brown; copious, white, sticky exudate. Leaves simple, narrowly elliptic, entire margin, glabrous. S.
