Degraded campo cerrado. Well-scattered shrubs & small trees twisted by former fires, giving a savanna-like aspect. Ground cover of grasses & herbs. Soil poor, reddish-brown fine sand with a little clay.

Living charred trees to 10 m tall. Burned twisted tree 5 m tall. Crown 7 m diam. Trunk 25 cm diam. [See specimen label for additional information]. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
