Distribution
The New York Botanical Garden Plants of BOLIVIA Cucurbitaceae Lagenaria siceraria (Mol.) Standi, det. M. Nee, 2008 Depto. Santa Cruz, Prov. Cordillera, 8.5 km NE of Ipita, along highway from Abapó to Camiri. 19°16’55”S, 63°28’45”W. alt. 875 m. Dry chaco forest in valley bottom, roadside with very short vegetation and some shrubs, Gomphrena martiana, Croton andinus, Solanum argentinum. Only one patch noticed along the highway from Santa Cruz de la Sierra to Camiri, evidently a casual escape. Several plants on ground, unshaded and very short herbs, seems to all be around some large animal burrows. Flowers white but closed (4:00 P.M., mostly sunny). Many fruits forming, green, the older ones pale, with hard rinds. Coll.: M. Nee, G. Alexander Parada G. & G. Pedro Cabrera S. No. 55758 24 May 2008 04157644
