Along trails from lower parking gate at creek to upper trails
along ridge. In sagebrush area with thick, shrubby cover;
bitterbrush. Predominantly Aspen forest with chokecherry and
hawthome, scattered Douglas Fir and Ponderosa Pine.
Sagebrush and Bitterbrush with snowberry common at higher,
more open sites. Elev.: 5700 ft./ 1737 m.

Plant 3-4 dm tall with many stems from a large rootstock.
Flowers deep yellow. Style attached at midpoint of ovary. Hairs
of stems and leaves mostly glandular.
