Floodplain vegetation of Gvnerium sagittatum, Cecropia, and secondary brush from former tropical evergreen forest, edges of cultivated fields of bananas and other crops. 17°28’S, 63°52’W. alt. 300 m. Shrublets 1.5 m. tall. Spikes held horizontally, nearly in the same plane as the leaves, first green, then white, then green. 04149014
