Floodplain vegetation of Gvnerium sagittatum,
Cecropia, and secondary brush from former
tropical evergreen forest, edges of cultivated
fields of bananas and other crops.

Shrublets 1.5 m. tall. Spikes held horizontally,
nearly in the same plane as the leaves, first
green, then white, then green.
