Ritter (NHA), 1999 Flora of Bolivia Family: Piperaceae Piper Department of Santa Cruz Province of Andres Ibanez A large (ca. 10-15 hectares) wetland complex, across the highway from the international airport. Elevation: ca. 430 meters. Approximate location: 17°39'S 63°10'W Shrub. Up to ca. 2.0 meters tall. Occasional. Growing on hummocks, and along the transition to upland. Fertile. Habitat: a seasonally inundated area of the marsh. Characterized by abundant hummock-forming ferns. During the rainy season, the areas between the hutnmocks are covered in free-floating macrophytes.
