W of Veracruz—Tabasco state border (=the bridge over the Rio Tonala), 17 km. N of Las Choapas. 18°03TN, 94°06tW alt. 10 m. Extensive swamp with scattered Acoelorraphe wrightii, and adjacent roadside. Scattered in swamps, 3 m. tall. Ca. 14 leaves in crown. Inflorescences 1.5 m. long, in bud, yellow-green, erect, interfoliar. Coll.: M.
