Shrub 2.5 m. tall, the least common of 4 species of Piper
in understory of secondary forest. Growing with P.
pseudofuligineum, P. jacquemontianum, P.
pseudolindenii, and P. amalago, and with P. aduncum
rare in open brushy roadsides.
