Buds pale pink; plant growing in sandy
soil, with sandstone parallel to the
surface, in thin Quercus-Carya-Pinus
woods, at EAST HIGHLAND, on the crest
of LOCKOUT MT., ca. 2.5 mi. from FORT
PAINE toward De Soto State Park.
