over the Belize River, entering by Black Man Eddy from
the Western Hwy. Evergreen forest on nearly flat to
rolling limestone terrain. 17021’N, 88°55’W; alt. ca. 100 m.
Shrub 3 m. tall, with strong distinctive pleasant aroma.
Spikes first hanging, then erect and white in flowering
stage, then hanging again in fruiting stage. With Piper
cayoense, P. aduncum, P. jacquemontianum, P. amalago.
